The Hills are alive…

Edit 4. Natalie Varenhout, Gembrook.

“Fresh air, peace, quiet and space to keep animals and grow food.”

This was the dream. And for Natalie Varenhout -(we have affectionately named her the Andromeda Queen) - it’s now a reality.

Seven years ago, after a challenging chapter, Nat and her husband Shane made the decision to step away from the rat race and lean into a slower, more intentional life on an acreage nestled amongst the forests of the Dandenong Ranges – and it was a beautiful property in Gembrook that called to them and become their forever home.

Nat’s passion lies in growing and tending to exotic blooms - Little Gem Magnolias, Japanese Andromeda (Pieris japonica), Camellias, Nandina, and Moolis Azaleas. The farm has given her space to nurture these varieties, and with just one distributor and a handful of local florists and decorators, her flowers are quietly making their way into the world.

She also keeps bees; gentle workers who not only support her harvests but supply her family with golden, homegrown honey.

Nat is looking to expand her distribution network, so if you are in the industry, please contact her via DM @natvarra
